Despite the fact that Lee Min-ho’s hit SBS drama “City Hunter” has been aired in Japan on terrestrial networks from March, the show is set to be broadcasted again, but this time through cable TV.

From May 29, the action drama from last year will be shown on BS Fuji, testifying to the fame of the hallyu actor in Japan. The drama, renamed “City Hunter in Seoul” for Japanese release, just finished airing not long ago there.

“Just as ‘City Hunter’ came to an end, they started broadcasting Lee’s other drama, “Personal Taste”, on TBS. Since then, Lee’s popularity has skyrocketed”, said an entertainment insider from Japan.

Away from the brown box too, Lee seems unstoppable as various media and fashion outlets want a juicy piece of the young Korean actor.

In China too, Lee’s fame knows no bounds. Back in April, in the runup to an appearance at a Chinese clothing store, Lee had to forego the event for security reasons as a thousands-strong crowd gathered to get a glimpse of the star.

In Korea, fans are holding their breath until August, when “Faith”, Lee’s next project, will air on SBS. Lee will work with actress Kim Hee-seon on the drama.

To all Minoz ! about visiting Faith sets!

 Actor Lee Min Ho’s fans got together for a very special 6th anniversary gift. Members of Lee Min Ho’s fanclub MINOZ created two versions of video clips to celebrate 6th anniversary of his official debut. These videos were featured in three major video billboards in Seoul.

The first video clip is about 20 seconds long and includes Lee Min Ho’s characters from all of his dramas since 2006. Fans also added special comments to this video saying, “An actor sent from the above Lee Min Ho, we cheer for your to soar higher,” and “Congratulations on your 6th anniversary, from MINOZ all over the world.”

The second version of this celebratory video includes loving messages from Lee Min Ho’s overseas fans. Fans from 30 countries, including China, Japan, Taiwan, as well as Peru, Russia, Iran, and India, participated in this event. These international fans submitted all their materials only two days after the initial announcement was made by MINOZ Korea. International fans also held their own events locally and/or via internet to celebrate Lee Min Ho’s special day.  

The entire event was planned and executed by Lee Min Ho’s fans. Although it is very costly to use video billboards, members of MINOZ from all over the world contributed and resolved the money issue without any trouble. They also created and edited the videos themselves. Lee Min Ho’s 6th anniversary video billboard started displaying on May 10 at 6am KST and both versions of the video will air 100 times a day until May 11 at midnight.

Lee Min Ho saw the video clips on one of the video billboards in Korea late at night on May 10 and expressed gratitude online, “Happy May with my fans! Thank you so much everyone ^^. I will be back with new drama ‘Faith’”.

‘Airport Hunter’ was the word to describe it. He caused the Gimpo Airport to a halt because of his exceptional fan service. Until he was on the plane, he continuously waved his hand and held the fans’ hands. Known for his storm like fandom and also for his storm like mannerism, he was known to be the model among all celebrities who appeared at the airport.

Actor Lee Min Ho arrived at the Gimpo Airport on April 22nd at 4:30pm to leave for China. He was departing for China for his Innisfree promotion in which he also appeared in the commercial as well.

This was an example to show the popularity of a ‘Fresh Hallyu Star.’ Many national fans arrived at the airport in order to see him. When Lee Min Ho showed himself in front of hundreds of fans, the fans began to stumble upon one another in order to catch a glimpse of him. Lee Min Ho was surrounded by fans which made it difficult for him to get pass through.

However, Lee Min Ho didn’t forget his freedom of choice. He didn’t hold back in giving fan services in order to express his gratitude to the fans who surrounded him. He even posed for the fans who took out their phone cameras or digital cameras by waving his hands or looking into the camera.

He didn’t ignore the fans who took out their hands for a handshake. Whenever he had the chance to reach, he shook some of the fans’ hands. He wasn’t picky about choosing right or left side, and his manners caused the fans to stir from excitement. He showed his best to fans who came out to say goodbye to him until he arrived at the departure gate.

This well mannered guy had great fashion. Lee Min Ho chose a casual look. He wore a vintage pair of jeans and a gray v-neck shirt to match with it. He wore white shoes to match his outfit along with a ‘Linoui’ leather backpack to show a luxurious look.

His hair and make up had natural looks. Lee Min Ho’s neat base skin tone was shown, and also looked healthy. His long bangs were naturally placed in front. You could see more of his charm through his natural appearance which differed from his stylish appearance in dramas.

Lee Min Ho never failed to show a flower like smile until he went inside the departure gate. He didn’t forget to shake the hands of the fans who came to see him. He held onto the letters and gifts that he received from his fans.

On the other hand, Lee Min Ho was chosen as the cast for the upcoming SBS drama, ‘Faith,’ which is set to air this August. Kim Hee Sun will be playing the female lead alongside with him. The time and space that he will be spending with Kim Hee Sun through this melodrama is already causing many interest.

Lee Kim Productions, of the drama “Time Slip Dr. Jin”, announced that they will firmly handle a conflict with the SBS drama “Faith”. Lee Kim Productions has already submitted a certification of contents to the producers of “Faith” and is also considering submitting an injunction that would prohibit the drama from being broadcast.

The problem at hand is that the contents of the two dramas, “Faith” and “Time Slip Dr. Jin”, are alike. The dramas are based on time travel and they also feature a modern day doctor traveling back in time. Lee Kim Productions has signed a contract with the creators of the original Japanese story and is producing “Time Slip Dr. Jin”.

The “Faith” production team doesn’t see this as a problem. Officials from the SBS drama department said, “We have learnt that this matter isn’t a problem according to legal sources. We have completed comparing of the two dramas as well”.

In addition, there have been arguments that “Faith” has drastically edited its contents. A person involved in this drama said, “The newly written script is different from what writer Song Ji-na initially wrote. The medical theme of the drama has been diluted and there are no concerns of plagiarism.

After this statement Lee Kim Productions argued, “The subject matter of ‘time travel’ and ‘doctor’ are still the same. Japan is currently asking questions and complaining about “Faith”. The two major features of the drama are time traveling and a doctor character, so if these two are still the same then that is a problem.

Chairwoman Jo Yoon-jeong of Lee Kim Productions said, “SBS handed over television rights to production company so it’s not their legal responsibility, but they still have moral responsibility to air original content. If “Time Slip Dr. Jin” is aired on MBC in June or July, we will submit an injunction prohibiting “Faith” from being broadcast and also pursue other legal matters”.

“Faith” is Kim Hee-seon’s comeback dramam her first in six years. Lee Min-ho joined the cast recently and it should air in August.

Song Seung-heon and Hero also joined “Time Slip Dr. Jin”. The cast is just as impressive as that of “Faith”. The exact broadcast date of the drama is still being debated but it is likely that it will begin in June or July.

Actor Lee Min Ho recently earned the title of “Facebook King”.

The Korean celebrity with most friends on Facebook turned out to be Lee Min Ho, who is experiencing immense popularity from not only within Korea but in various countries in Asia.

Lee Min Ho’s agency, Starhaus Entertainment stated, “We think this was a result of Lee Min Ho friendly communication and updates with his fans about his life.”

Lee Min Ho joined Facebook in May of 2010 and had on average, about 30,000 to 150,000 friends visiting his Facebook daily. These numbers do not include the largest batch of Lee Min Ho’s fans, the Chinese fans. Currently, the Chinese fans are unable to use Facebook and Twitter due to government censorship. If Facebook becomes uncensored, it will be expected that even more fans will become Lee Min Ho’s Facebook friends.

‘City Hunter‘ fans might possibly see the Lee Min Ho-Park Min Young couple together again as rumors are circulating that the two stars still meet frequently.

According to insiders, the two still talk on the phone together and send text messages often, in addition to meeting each other near their homes. The possibility of the two allegedly getting back together after their break up over two months ago is gaining much interest.

The two stars caught each others’ eye after filming for SBS‘ hit drama, ‘City Hunter’, in July, and broke off their relationship this past December. They released the news to the public belatedly in January, stating they are now just “encouraging colleagues” to one another.

However, rumors of an alleged reunion are now quietly arising. On April 3rd, one insider who is close to the two stated, “It was burdensome for the two to meet at places where there were a lot of fans or they would receive a lot of attention…Rather than a break-up [atmosphere], it’s a casual atmosphere where there’s no burden.”

Their frequent meetings have not gone unknown to colleagues either. One star who acted in Park Min Young’s drama stated, “It seems the two have strong feelings for each other…Even though I don’t know the specific situation, I know they still have a good relationship.”

One representative stated, “Around the time the break-up news came out around January, they argued, sulked, and hesitated to contact each other like normal couples.”

Representatives from Park Min Young’s agency stated, “It is not true that she will get together with Lee Min Ho again. They are just friends who ask how the other is doing. From what we know, their inner circles are similar so they cannot end their contact suddenly. Their houses are close together so that seems to be the source of these rumors.”

NEWS: LEE MIN HO CONFIRMED FOR DRAMA ‘FAITH’ 

Hallyu star Lee Min Ho, who rose to fame on “City Hunter” and “Boys Over Flowers”, recently confirmed his small screen comeback through the upcoming SBS drama ‘Faith’.

‘Faith’ was shunted from channel to channel for three years. Ever since 2010, the drama was unable to settle down due to the lack of a proper male lead, making it wander between MBC and SBS.

Lee Min Ho has became a savior for the much-maligned drama, as he finally taken up the offer. He will be playing Choi Young of the King’s personal guard, a man who later becomes the famed General Choi Young. The drama tells the story about a warrior during the Goryeo dynasty and a doctor from the present trying to make a king that heals common citizens.

Lee Min Ho stated, “The moment I began to read the script, I was absorbed into it. I ended up reading up to the 6th episode. I always liked historical dramas, and wanted to appear in one for an image change.”

‘Faith’ will start airing in August following ‘Ghost’, which stars So Ji Sub and Lee Yeon Hee.
